The Colour of Poverty Campaign is working to build concrete strategies, tools, initiatives and community-based capacity through which individuals and NGO’s (especially those reflective of the affected racialized and newcomer communities) can begin to develop coherent shared action plans, including creating effective coordinated strategies for collaborating with mainstream institutions and advocacy groups, governments, funders as well as the media so as to best work together to address this disturbing and growing structural or systemic ethno-racial inequality.

This workshop was a premiere event for the Health and Racism Working Group, and an opportunity to engage in a province-wide campaign working to decrease the barriers that racialized groups disproportionately face. A summary of the recommendations made at the workshop will be available online soon.
An article summarizing the day can be found in the Mississauga News Online.
Thank you to all those that participated, and thank you to the working group members who coordinated the day, the Colour of Poverty Campaign and the Canadian Coptic Centre for their excellent venue.
