It is after International Women's Day (IWD - March 8) and before International Day for the Elimination of Racisl Discrimination (IDERD - March 21). Both days are marked in both the Global South and Global North in all sorts of ways - rallies, workshops, demonstrations, social media blitzs, emails, videos, quiet contemplation. From the Health and Racism Working Group: Happy IWD and IDERD!
What did you do on March 8th?
What will you be doing on March 21st?
The Health and Racism Working Group is made up of workers and community members, mostly women, who come together, making space for dialogue on systemic oppressions including racism and on the steps being taken, being challenged, through anti-racist work.
The Employment Equity project is one set of steps - we hope you will save the date (Saturday, April 16th from 1 to 4 pm at the East Mississauga Community Health Centre) for the next Employment Equity Forum. What can you expect? open discussion, participatory activities, great snacks and a chance to connect with other workers and community members.
Look forward to hearing about more employment equity forums, our annual symposium, and our expressive arts project - something we know you'll be excited about!
